If you live far from France, there may be mail delivery issues. Letters can get lost and never arrive. To avoid inconveniences caused by delays in receiving your tax notice, we encourage you to file your return online and make use of our online services.

From August until the end of December (based on when the tax department receives and processes the tax return), the first tax notices are sent by mail and are accessible in your personal account.

Nevertheless, if your tax notice is not accessible in your personal account by the end of December, please contact your local Individual Tax Department directly from your account.

The payment deadline is adjusted according to the date when the tax notices are made available and, as your payment deadline will have been set for a subsequent date, you will not be liable for any surcharge or penalty for non-payment on 15 September.
